  • Island Park Charter School is not your average school. We may be small, but we are mighty! We are the eagles! We stand tall. We fly high, and we always pass our goals. Here, we learn in a more fun and efficient way. We learn robotics, piano, ASL, Spanish, and art. We have amazing teachers. Our school is beyond compare!

  • This school is nothing like other schools. You learn pretty interesting things. A lot of things are interactive. I have been at Island Park Charter School for 7 years! I personally love math. I'm only in 5th grade and I'm learning 6th-7th grade math! If I could go through any school again, it would be IPCS, the only school I've ever learned at.

  • Island Park Charter School is an amazing school. I came to this school not having a clue how to read. Now, I am in 5th grade and reading like a rockstar. Island Park Charter School is splendid because we actually feel like family. I love IPCS.

  • IPCS is the best school I've been to. The teachers are always there for everyone. They teach us higher than our grade level, which gives us fun challenges. My favorite subjects are coding and art. In coding, we normally have a group where we code our robots together. We have to code them to finish a mission. If we don't do this, we do something fun and enjoyable. In art, we draw, crochet, hand embroider, and more. Out of all of this and more fun and educational activities, it makes each day wonderful. IPCS is the most educational and fun school ever.

  • I find this school educational, but in a fun way. I like that if you don't understand something, the teachers are going to help you understand whatever you're confused about. These teachers are relentless when it comes to the students education, and they are very understanding.

  • Island Park Charter School is an amazing school. This school has taught me a lot of things. We do math, reading, PE, robotics, ASL, and Spanish. I love IPCS!

Community Statements

  • As proud parents of a kindergartener at Island Park Charter School, my husband and I have truly appreciated being part of the school community for the past three years, including two years in pre-K and one year in kindergarten. We could not be more pleased with how well our child was cared for, supported, and encouraged throughout the school year. What stands out most is how much he genuinely loved going to school each day. He built wonderful friendships and formed meaningful connections. It is clear that the school creates a welcoming and positive environment where children feel valued and excited to learn. Some of his favorite memories this year were the special experiences and field trips, including visits to Yellowstone and Harrison State Park. I enjoyed pick up since I was able to talk with the teachers and hearing all about everything he learned and experienced has been incredibly rewarding as parents. We are very grateful for the care, patience, and dedication shown by the entire staff at Island Park Charter School, and we are excited for our child to continue his journey there over the next years.

  • Our son has truly thrived at Island Park Charter School. One of the things we appreciate most is the individual attention each student receives. The smaller class sizes and one-on-one support have made such a difference for him—he is excelling academically and, just as importantly, he genuinely loves going to school every day. Another aspect we value is the unique environment the school provides. Being located in Island Park gives students the opportunity to learn in and connect with nature, which has been such a positive and enriching experience for our son. It adds a hands-on, real-world element to learning that you just don’t find everywhere. As parents, it means everything to see our child excited about learning, growing in confidence, and being supported by such a caring and dedicated staff. We are incredibly grateful to be part of this school community.

  • Our daughter, who is in sixth grade, has benefitted greatly from attending IPCS. Her confidence in math has absolutely skyrocketed. She needed a smaller school setting where there is time to go over things until there is real understanding. Our whole family has seen such a positive change in her attitude towards school and her blossoming personality. Her favorite subjects are reading, piano and play practice.

  • We travel for my husband's work and we were planning on homeschooling. When we got to Island Park we came across Island Park Charter School and decided to give it a try. I sure am glad we did, what an amazing experience my kids had. I love the way that they teach them by skill level instead of strictly grade it has moved my kids along tremendously. They teach so many other things that public elementary doesn't. Sign language, Spanish, robotics, and piano are just a few examples of some of the skill sets taught that both of my kids use daily. The staff is so kind it's like being part of a family.

  • From the very beginning, Island Park Charter School has always been a blessing to our mountain community. My daughter started school with very little speaking skills. She is in her second year with IPCS and she has dramatically improved with both social and speaking skills. Connie is amazing at what she does and her team is a fantastic asset to our growing community. We are very lucky to have people who appreciate and care for our kids. I am blessed to be able to know my child is safe at school and surrounded by people who will help in any way possible.

  • My wife and I homeschooled our kids until ages 6 and 5 with a a lot of success, yet many sacrifices were made with schedules and the kids socialization. We knew we needed to look at schools in the area. We were reluctant to bring our kids to a public school for fear of many reasons most homeschooling parents are concerned with. After looking into Island Park Charter School to learn about the curriculum used and the staff members, we were really excited to bring the kids to their first school. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I was impressed with what they teach the kids - from computer coding to sign language. The kids have loved going to school and have been able to overcome a lot of the shortcomings presented from homeschooling. The kids within the first couple of weeks were blending their words, made friends, and look forward to school every day. This has been nothing but an amazing experience from the beginning for our whole family. Thank you IPCS!

  • I’ve been nothing but impressed with the quality of learning and the output of confidence as I’ve observed your work at Island Park Charter School! As a grandparent, I’ve seen many papers, projects and handwriting from my granddaughter. She speaks so positively about her teachers and classmates. She has told me things she has learned like contractions, math facts and  geology facts no normal classroom curriculum would cover for a kindergartner! She is a sponge learning and listening from the older students.  I’ve loved the Veterans Day and Geology Rocks programs immensely. Your students love you and you love them! It shows!  As an educator for over twenty years, I’ve seen quality in what you produce. I love the blended environment students have for learning and helping each other. I especially notice that you move them along as they understand a concept! That takes “on top of your game” application and lesson planning! Good job!  Keep up the quality work!

  • What a bonus when Connie Day put a lot of hard work into opening the school a few years ago. An educational haven for students aged 4 - 9 years. Gone is the long drive, through all types of weather to Ashton and a real local community school is now available. It is apparent to all who volunteer or visit the school that the students have fun, while engaging in their lessons. The staff produce an atmosphere that is pro-active to the various ages of the kids, who have a great social repartee, look out for each other and are eager to learn. It is a joy to be a volunteer there, albeit only a couple of hours a week.

  • I must admit, I was skeptical of sending my child to a small charter. Would she have all the opportunities she would at a larger school? I didn’t know any different but looking back now, I can’t even believe how silly my concerns were. Sending my child to Island Park Charter was the BEST decision I’ve ever made for her education. The teachers truly love the students and they love to teach. I can’t tell you how important it is for kids to fall in love with learning early on and that’s one of the things that makes this school so special. My daughter is thriving and it’s because learning has been introduced to her as fun and exciting. Learning alongside the older kids has some awesome benefits too. She’s not restricted to learning at the same pace as the rest of her classmates, they meet her where she is and it’s been so exciting to hear each day what she’s accomplished. As far as opportunities goes, I feel she’s experienced more and excelled much faster than she ever could have at a bigger school. We made the right choice. Thank you IPCS, from the bottom of my heart, we love you!

  • As a parent of two children that graduated from a charter school, I wanted to reach out to you and let you know how much I respect, appreciate, and adore the Island Park Charter School. Your school is an amazing asset to our community. The one-on-one attention that is offered to students is exactly what these kids need. As a parent I saw very early in my children’s own learning that they learned differently and at different speeds. Today’s children are much more complex in their skill level and each child learns at their own rate, you are providing that service and opportunity for each kid to be able to do just that.

  • Since the day that we enrolled our boys in Island Park Charter School, our boys LOVE LEARNING. They LOVE SCHOOL! They have gained so much confidence and learned to much more about what it means to work and play well with others since coming to IPCS. The staff and everyone that works and volunteers at Island Park Charter School have made all of this and do so much more possible for our boys. Our family is forever grateful and blessed to have such amazing and compassionate educators and mentors in our children’s lives. Island Park Charter School is an incredible part of our community and our family.
