About IPCS
Island Park Charter School is a K-6 public charter school authorized by the Fremont County Joint School District #215. Our school is open to all students in kindergarten through 6th grade living in Fremont County, Idaho. We will be adding 7th grade in the 2026-2027 school year and 8th grade in the 2027-2028 school year. The school is, by design, different from traditional public schools. The purpose of charter schools is to use innovative practices in education, with the hope that some of these practices can be adapted for use in other public-school settings. Because we are governed by a local school board, we have greater flexibility to try new things and to quickly respond to the needs of our students. There is simply less “red tape” to deal with as we make decisions. We do, however, have a high degree of accountability. If our students do not succeed, the school could be closed by the district. There is high motivation for us to provide a quality program that ensures academic success for all our students.
